I was created an illustration for the article, Scientists Can Predict When Birds Will Migrate Up to a Week in Advance by Emily Matchar from the Smithsonian magazine. The article delves into bird migration, the significant purposes and impact this ritual has and how we as humans can predict this pattern in order to aid it and protect it for future generations.

I drew inspiration from the last few lines in the article, stating that it is an effort that we must do 'together'. I aimed to capture this togetherness by illustration a city scape from the bird's perspective including the factors discussed in the article for example the wind turbines. Using a darker colour palette, I aimed to reflect that birds migrate at night, an interesting fact I learnt from the article!
